Winter build: civil works and generation halls underway at Blindman

Construction of AHI’s first phase is underway at Blindman Industrial Park. Heavy civil works — earthworks, roads and site servicing — are being delivered by an experienced Alberta civil contractor, with civil site engineering and stormwater design by an Alberta engineering firm, including flood-plain confirmation for the lands.

The buildings are precast, sound-contained industrial structures designed by an Alberta architecture practice; the development manager, M3 Development Management Inc., coordinates design, schedule and the third-party study program.

Hiring is local first: an Alberta general contractor with subtrades from Blindman, Burnt Lake and Blackfalds. Alberta crews are on site through each construction phase, rotating as scopes peak.

Progress is filmed and shared: the construction gallery and drone footage on ahicampus.com are updated as the build advances toward first power in 2027.
