Havenz Smart Communities, Lead Developer, and Turning Stone Developments, the Métis-led, Indigenous-owned Lead Investor — one flagship, one standard.
Havenz × Turning StoneAHI is developed by Havenz Smart Communities, Lead Developer of the campus, and delivered in partnership with Turning Stone Developments — the Métis-led, Indigenous-owned Lead Investor and general partner at the forefront of the project. Both are general partners of AHI.
Turning Stone is an Indigenous-owned infrastructure firm based in Calgary, built to develop revenue-generating infrastructure with First Nations, not around them. Its founder and CEO, Ron Maurice, founded Maurice Law in 2002 — Canada’s first Indigenous-owned national law firm — and built it over two decades into the country’s leading advocate for historic Treaty and Aboriginal rights claims.
The structuring principle is simple: “First Nations ownership at the centre — not passive stakes.” On AHI that means Indigenous economic participation and ownership built into the general partnership itself, and a dedicated Indigenous-opportunity portal planned across all four pillars — energy, data, food and job security.
The flagship is a permitted, appraised ($382.8M, third-party, 2026), revenue-designed campus: 10 MW in construction on 119 titled acres in Red Deer County, 30 MW as the plan of record. The partnership page — and a short film shot on site — is now live.
AHI — AI Hub of Innovation is developed by Havenz Smart Communities (Lead Developer) in partnership with Turning Stone Developments (Lead Investor); both are general partners of AHI. Figures are as published on ahicampus.com at the date shown; nothing in this article constitutes an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy securities. Growth beyond the 30 MW plan of record is a pathway subject to its own permits and studies.
