Canadian strength · Aligned with the national principles

Aligned with Canada’s Responsible Data Centre Development Principles — and Alberta’s AI Data Centres Strategy.

On September 3, 2026 the Government of Canada set out five expectations for how data centres are built in Canada. Alberta’s AI Data Centres Strategy asks for the same things: bring your own power, protect the grid and affordability, cool sustainably, partner with Indigenous communities. Here is how AHI lines up.

01
Lasting local benefits

Alberta trades and firms hired first · a new non-residential tax base for Red Deer County and Alberta schools · partnership with Turning Stone, a Métis-owned company · education partnerships in Central Alberta.

02
No electricity costs shifted to Canadians

The campus generates its own power behind the fence from Alberta natural gas. It does not draw on the grid to run its computers; a future interconnection, funded by the project, is designed to add supply to Alberta’s system.

03
Minimal water & environmental impact

Zero municipal water: a sealed closed loop with direct-to-chip cooling, free cooling in Alberta’s climate, waste heat planned for year-round agritech, and hydrogen-blend-capable generation.

04
Transparent about local impacts

Independent acoustical assessments, approvals through Red Deer County’s public process, a plain-language Community Information page, and a contact path that gets answered.

05
Strategic value to Canada

Compute on Canadian soil under Canadian law · Alberta-founded and Métis-partnered · a Canadian delivery ecosystem · a repeatable campus template designed to be built again with Indigenous partners across Canada.

Community · By Albertans, for Alberta

Built where industry belongs. Built by neighbours.

AHI sits inside Blindman Industrial Park among heavy, medium and business-industrial uses — the right project, in the right zone, built by an Alberta team.

Zero municipal water by design

No municipal water for power generation or cooling — a sealed closed loop and ordinary domestic use only. Not connected to municipal water.

Self-sufficient behind the fence

No municipal water, sewer or power tie-ins are asked for — the campus brings its own services and pays its own way.

Quiet by design

Engineered to AUC Rule 012 sound requirements from day one, with major equipment inside concrete buildings. Modern lean-burn engines on Alberta natural gas, hydrogen-blend capable, with dual-fuel standby for backup only, operating within Alberta’s environmental approvals framework.

Power added, not taken

Behind-the-fence generation today; a future interconnection designed to add supply to Alberta’s grid, through the public AESO and AUC processes.

Central Alberta opportunity

Local hiring first — Alberta trades and firms through each construction phase, and a 24/7 operations team that grows with every hall.

New County tax base

Long-term non-residential assessment for Red Deer County and Alberta schools — without new municipal servicing.

Community Information & FAQ

Straight answers on water, sound, power, jobs and process — on one page you can share.

Approvals & milestones — on the record

What is approved, what is underway, and what still has to earn its permit — updated as the project advances.

Red Deer County — development approval, first phase
Approved by the County’s Municipal Planning Commission in October 2025 through the County’s public process.
Granted
Provincial environmental approvals — generation
Initial generation phases approved under Alberta’s environmental framework; each further phase is reviewed on its own.
In place
AUC Rule 012 — sound
A condition of approval, engineered in from day one and independently assessed. Real-world measurement follows as each phase comes online.
Designed in
Grid interconnection — AESO / AUC
In the public interconnection process. Until then the campus runs fully behind the fence.
In process
Future phases
Every 10 MW increment earns its own permits, studies and public process before it is built. Nothing is assumed.

About AHI

Founded by Albertans, for Albertans.

AHI was founded in Alberta by Havenz Smart Communities — a team that grew up on this province’s energy, its trades and its work ethic — and is built in partnership with Turning Stone Developments, a Métis-owned company, on land we know, in an industrial park where projects like this belong.

Alberta-founded

Founded and led from Alberta by Havenz Smart Communities, with Métis partnership through Turning Stone — decisions made here, by people who live here.

Alberta-powered

Alberta gas, Alberta trades, Alberta engineering — the same energy know-how that built this province, now converting molecules into compute.

Alberta-first

Local hiring first, regional supply chains, waste heat for year-round agritech, and infrastructure on Canadian soil, under Canadian law.

We believe the next great Alberta industry is being built right now — and that it should be built the Alberta way: behind the fence, through the process, neighbour to neighbour.

AI sovereignty — your data, kept close

Your banking, your health records, your business — it all lives in data centres today. The only question is where. Canadian data belongs on Canadian soil, under Canadian law.

AI that builds better buildings

We use AI in our own design and operations — modelling energy, sound and cooling before we pour, and optimizing them after we energize. The campus is a working template for how AI advances better, quieter, cleaner building solutions.

Education & tech careers
